At the beginning of February, ASSOS launched its new endurance collection, the Mille (men’s) and UMA (women’s) GT S11. The collection is designed for everyday riding, with the new jersey and bib shorts offering comfort, breathability, and a modern look. ASSOS made updates to the material, fit, and logo.
“The MILLE/UMA GT is the backbone of our collection, so every update has to meaningfully improve the ride experience,” says Luca Zanasca, Senior Manager of Development at ASSOS of Switzerland. “For S11, we focused on refining the essentials: increased breathability, and subtle construction improvements that deliver noticeable gains in comfort, stability, and fit – ride after ride.”

Fashion, Function, and Comfort
I’m obsessed with the colors, silkiness, and performance of the new UMA GT jersey. It is so comfortable and lightweight that you don’t even realize you’re wearing a form-fitting jersey. The fabric moves with your body without restricting you. The main body of the jersey uses ASSOS’s AirCell material, an ultralight circular knit with an open hexagon structure that delivers exceptional airflow and elasticity. The full zip front also helps you control body temperature on hot summer rides.
As for the jersey’s sleeves, they are updated with Eclipse, a lightweight warp-knit material with an ultrasoft feel and UPF 50+ protection. The raw-cut sleeves create a low-profile finish for improved aerodynamics and eliminate pressure points.
The contrasting-colored rear pockets feature flexible panels to help hold contents securely in place, even when fully loaded. Silicon grippers on the rear hem keep the jersey from riding up even when in the drops. The new ASSOS logo appears on the middle of the three rear pockets as a reflective element.
While the jersey sleeves provide sun protection, the rest of the jersey body does not. The AirCell material helps keep you cooler on hot summer days, but I believe it won’t shield you from the sun’s harmful rays. Additionally, the low-profile collar offers little coverage for the back of the neck. Be sure to apply sunscreen to your neck and body or wear a summer baselayer like the one reviewed below.

If you’re looking for a summer baselayer, the ASSOS SS Skin Layer P1 is a great choice. It has been redesigned to be more breathable, more elastic, and 15% lighter. It’s truly featherlight and feels like a second skin, pulling moisture away from your body.
ASSOS uses a circular seamless mesh with permanent carbon-infused odor control to create a baselayer without any seams, except for the sleeves. This design prevents chafing and eliminates uncomfortable seams, which is important when wearing a snug second skin.

Designed for Endurance Rides: All Day Comfort
The ASSOS UMA GT bib shorts S11 are lighter, more durable, and have a longer inseam, making them perfect for summer endurance rides. The new breathable compression QUARTZ fabric has permanent odorControl and is made with 80% pre-consumer recycled polyamide.
Bib straps with rollBar design technology provide stability and support while securing the chamois in place as you move around on the saddle. A GT S11 chamois with a 12mm endurance pad and Shock-Absorb Damping Mono foam uses a three-layer perforated construction for breathability. The signature ASSOS goldenGate 2.0 technology allows the chamois to move freely with the rider’s body, reducing friction while pedaling.
The leg hem’s PILtec Plug-I grip keeps the shorts from riding up. However, I prefer the raw edge design of ASSOS DYORA R bibs as they provide a cleaner transition from hem to leg.
Available in four flattering colors—black, moss green, wild brown, and burgundy red—the GT S11 shorts have a deeper, true-black color that stays opaque even when stretched. I tested the wild brown, and I like changing it up from traditional black; however, it shows sweat marks in the crotch area on warm days.
Overall, the UMA GT S11 bibs fit great, are super comfortable, and pair perfectly with the rest of the ASSOS kit.
